She buys her tickets early in the morning when she stops off at Deli Stop Foodmart, 907 Broadway in Westville on her way to work. One morning, she noticed half a pack of the New Jersey Lottery’s Crossword had already been sold, so she bought a ticket from the pack.
She began scratching it off when she got to work while she was still in her car, but she couldn’t see the ticket that well. She threw it in her glovebox and went to work, saving her possible winning moment for later.

What a moment it was.
After work, Hodges called her daughter and scratched off the rest of her ticket. She read off the serial and ticket number to her daughter and the line went quiet then, finally, her daughter yelled out “Mom you won $500,000.”
Hodges was in shock. She had never won big before. In fact, she was still in shock when she got home and asked her husband to look up the ticket on his computer. When he did, a flashing sign said “Congratulation! You’ve Won $500,000.00.”
Shock turned to ecstacy as the couple knew they had won big. When asked what they will do with their winnings, they said they would buy a new car, replace all carpets in their house, give money to children and pay off all their debts.
Hodges also said she would continue to play the lottery games and will join the VIP Club.
