Woman Killed In I-295 Crash As Minivan Hits Truck In South Jersey: Police

The truck was parked on the shoulder, officials said.

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A woman is dead after her minivan crashed into a truck parked on the shoulder of Interstate 295 in Gloucester County on Monday, authorities said.

It happened at 11:54 a.m. on I-295 South in Logan Township.

A Dodge minivan, driven by Ibtissam Sankar, was traveling southbound while a Freightliner tractor-trailer was parked on the right shoulder, police said.

Sankar, 64, of Trenton, entered the right shoulder and rear-ended the truck, according to State Police.

She sustained fatal injuries, while a passenger in her vehicle had minor injuries, police said.

A photo shared by 6abc Action News shows the minivan smashed up against the truck.

The minivan had a "School Vehicle" marker, according to Action News. But its connection to any school is unclear.

The crash remains under investigation.
