$30K In New Fencing To Be Installed At Westfield's Windsor Park Playground

The Westfield Town Council approved the purchase at its most recent meeting.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A new fence, costing roughly $30,000, will be installed at Windsor Park Playground.

The Westfield Town Council approved a resolution at the July 11 meeting to purchase $30,268 from Challenger Fence Company in Patterson to be installed at the park at 238 Windsor Ave.

The resolution "assists us in completing the second phase of the Windsor Park Improvements with a new fence around the perimeter of the park," said Councilman Scott Katz, who was serving as Acting Mayor in Mayor Brindle's absence.

The renovation of the park began in February 2022 when Westfield's town council awarded a $ 87,000 contract for the installation of a new playground to Ben Schaffer Recreation Inc. of Lake Hopatcong. Read More: New Playground Coming To Westfield's Windsor Park: Photos

A grant of $43,000 from the Union County Open Space, Recreation Trust Fund, Kids Recreation Grants also went toward this purchase, lessening the cost for the town.

Windsor Park is only 0.5 acres — a relatively small park compared to larger ones in the area like Mindowaskin Park and Gumbert Park.
