Man Punched Through Lock, Burglarized 4 Westfield Businesses: Police

The burglaries all occurred in one night, after a man punched through a lock and gained entry into each business, police said.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Four Westfield businesses were burglarized in one night last week, according to the most recent police blotter.

The burglaries all took place at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, according to police. Three thefts occurred on the 200 block of West South Avenue and another occurred on the 400 block of the same street, police said. Cash was also stolen from each business.

Update: Michael Walsh of Westfield Police Department told Patch Wednesday that the following businesses were burglarized: Manhattan Bagel, Bow Nail and Spa, Domino’s Pizza and Nail Boutique.

Police suspect the burglar is the same for each break-in and that he punched through the lock and gained entry into the front door of each business.

A total of $920 was stolen from the businesses, according to the police blotter.

The suspect is described as a man with a skinny build wearing a face mask, white shirt and black pants.
