4 Westfield Eagle Scouts Honored By Congressman Kean Jr.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Four Eagle Scouts from Westfield were honored during a ceremony hosted by Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) last Friday.

Scouts from New Jersey's 7th Congressional District who achieved or will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout between July 2023 and the end of 2024 were invited to attend the second annual Eagle Scout Award Event ceremony.

Scouts from Westfield who were awarded include:

• Benjamin Ackerman from Westfield (Troop 273)
• Zachary Carvalho from Westfield (Troop 273)
• Colin Foley from Westfield (Troop 273)
• Michael Logozzo from Westfield (Troop 273)

An Eagle Scout title is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America organization. To become an Eagle Scout, one must earn a total of 21 merit badges and demonstrate Scout spirit, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that scouts plan, organize, lead, and manage.

"I am incredibly impressed by the talent and dedication of the Eagle Scouts in our district," said Kean. "Earning the title of Eagle Scout is no easy feat, and these young adults have every reason to be proud of their achievement. They are natural leaders with bright futures ahead of them. Congratulations to all the Eagle Scouts!"

The event honored 17 Eagle Scouts who represented all six counties in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. More than 50 people attended this event, including parents, grandparents, siblings, and adult scout leaders.
