3. 2 Westfield Students Named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists (patch.com) — Two Westfield High School seniors have been named semifinalists for the prestigious 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, putting them among the top scorers in New Jersey. Local families can take pride as these students move on to the finalist round, where academic records, activities, leadership, and test scores will determine who ultimately earns scholarships next spring.

New Jersey Cross Country Rewind - 8/31 - 9/6 (milesplit.com) — Westfield High School's boys cross-country team opened the season strongly at the Oak Ridge Invitational, finishing second to powerhouse Union Catholic, 58–19. Junior Lincoln Staiger led the Blue Devils with a runner‑up time of 10:31, breaking up Union Catholic's front pack as statewide meets like Cherokee Challenge and Run the Night showcased emerging New Jersey distance talent.
