What was it like to walk on the Moon? Americans and the rest of the world got their answer to this question on July 20, 1969, now almost 50 years ago! To celebrate this first Moon landing, Amateur Astronomers, Inc. will present their annual Astronomy Day on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Families and friends are invited to come to the Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside NJ from 1-4 pm and afterwards to the William Miller Sperry Observatory in Cranford from 7:30-10:30 pm. Activities will honor Apollo 11, the first Moon landing by US astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

From 1-4pm, at the Trailside Nature and Science Center there will be space talks, solar viewing safely through telescopes, a solar system walk, and many space-themed hands-on activities for children and to help them understand the importance of this historic event.
