Big Changes Still Being Considered For Tamaques Park In Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Plans that could reshape Tamaques Park with new trails, pickleball courts, a community center and other improvements are still under review, and Westfield officials are encouraging residents to share their feedback before June 15.

Mayor Jeremy Berman highlighted the ongoing public input process in his weekly community update, noting that resident feedback will help guide the future of one of Westfield's most heavily used recreational spaces.

The proposed redesign includes expanded walking trails, a community garden, additional pickleball courts and a multi-purpose community building that could host activities such as fitness classes, wrestling and cheerleading programs. Consultants have also proposed a second entrance on Lamberts Mill Road to help ease traffic during large events.

The concept plan was developed following public meetings and a community survey that drew roughly 2,500 responses. According to town officials, trails and walkability emerged as some of the highest priorities among residents.

"Tamaques Park is one of Westfield's greatest assets, and resident input is essential to helping shape a plan that meets the needs of the community," Berman said.

Residents who have not yet participated can submit feedback through June 15.
