Brief: Franklin Teacher Passes Away After Cancer Battle

first grade teacher Kelly Finkel passed away after a battle with cancer Wednesday.

Finkel's battle with cancer had rallied many in the community behind the young teacher. Franklin students offered support and last month over a 1,000 students, parents and teachers to watch Washington and Wilson teachers play volleyball to raise funds in her honor. A variety of fundraisers were sponsored by PTOs around the community to raise funds for the family.

Finkel is survived by her husband, Darren, an English teacher at Westfield High School, and their young daughter.
