College Student's Summer Gone to the Dogs

Summer vacation has gone to the dogs for one Westfield college student. Harrison Slater, a rising junior at Penn State University, has decided to pursue a summer job he knows he's good at and one he enjoys: dog walking and pet sitting. 

Slater said he was looking to make some extra money before returning to school this fall and caring for pets while Westfielders are on vacation seemed like a perfect fit.

Growing up with a variety of pets has given the Westfield High School grad a leg up on understanding what it takes to provide quality care and exercise. Slater said he's happy to take dogs for a walk or a run while their owners are at work or out of town. In addition to man's best friend, Slater said he's willing to care for cats, birds, fish, hamsters and even reptiles.
