Using innovative light-based printmaking techniques, including SolarFast exposure, photograms, and layered digital negatives,&nbsp;Julie Harris transforms antique children's dresses into luminous, evocative images that preserve traces of memory, reveal unseen histories, and explore the delicate balance between care, protection, and control.
Through the direct interaction of light, material, and time, Julie Harris creates compelling works where every fold, stitch, and impression becomes part of the image itself. Her layered compositions reflect on vulnerability, emotional inheritance, and the lasting influence of our earliest experiences, inviting viewers to discover their own connections to memory, identity, and the human body.
Measured Tenderness offers a visually striking and emotionally resonant experience that encourages reflection, conversation, and a deeper appreciation of how light, memory, and material can transform ordinary objects into extraordinary work.

The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational fellowship of active men of retirement age, founded in 1930. We hear presentations most Tuesday mornings in an auditorium in New Providence, and we have many other activities including discussion groups, sports and outdoor groups, and celebrations. Our dues are minimal, and members volunteer for all aspects of the operation. Our motto is "Come for the programs. Stay for the friends." Guests are always welcome to attend and to learn about our organization.
