The Precision Revolution in cancer marks a fundamental shift in medicine: we have stopped treating cancer based solely on where it is (the organ) and started treating it based on what it is (the genetic mutation). In the past, two patients with lung cancer received the same "blunt force" chemotherapy. Today, they might receive entirely different treatments because their tumors have different genetic "drivers."His talk will cover a look at the newest tools doctors are using to extend and save lives.
