Temple Sholom of Scotch Plains invites its congregation and the wider local community to a special Shabbat of Celebration honoring the 18th ordination anniversaries of Rabbi Emily Losben-Ostrov and Cantor Sharlein, both ordained in May 2008. In Jewish tradition, the number 18 — “chai” — represents life, blessing, and good fortune. That both clergy reach this milestone together makes the occasion doubly meaningful.

Friday, June 12 at 7:30 pm celebrations begin with a Kabbalat Shabbat Service. Saturday, June 13 at 3:00 pm there will be a “Chai” Tea to continue the festivities.

To RSVP, share a tribute, or make a donation in their honor, visit the link below.
