Charles Samuel Davis, as George Washington, will present a Westfield America250 event honoring America’s first veterans and the men, women, and children who supported the fight for independence.
Mr. Davis has been a frequent visitor to Westfield during this Semiquincentennial year, helping the town celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary and remember the people whose sacrifices made independence possible. His talks consistently stir a sense of pride in our nation and gratitude for George Washington’s leadership during the Revolutionary War.
A New Jersey resident and member of the Freemasons and the Sons of the American Revolution, the speaker will reflect on the hardships of the eight long years of the fight for independence, including hunger, disease, exhausting marches, family separations, and uncertainty. Through Washington’s perspective, audiences will consider the courage, perseverance, and shared sacrifice that secured American independence.
