Storybook Studio announces brand-new musical animated film based on Beatrix Potter's books featuring Peter Rabbit and his friends
Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Benjamin Bunny, Mr. Jeremy Fisher and all their friends are set to brought to the big screen in a new family film. The film will be titled Beatrix Potter’s The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Friends, and it will be a family-friendly feature film based on the children’s books of English author and illustrator Beatrix Potter.
The film will be written, produced and directed by John Patrick. John has always been a fan of Beatrix Potter, and was one of many children who fondly remembers reading the adventures in her stories.
Starting his own independent film company, “Storybook Studio”, John is adapting Beatrix Potter’s tales in the hopes of introducing them to a new generation of children. The books of Beatrix Potter have never been out of print and are listed among the most popular works of classic literature for children.

Beatrix Potter’s first and most famous story was originally written as a letter to a sick child friend in 1893, and eventually published as a book in 1902, titled The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Several more Tales followed, featuring more small animal characters.
The film will adapt 10 stories from Beatrix Potter’s books. The stories to be adapted for this film will be The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse, The Tale of Two Bad Mice and The Tailor of Gloucester.

Beatrix Potter herself will be included as a character in the film, interacting with the audience and narrating her own stories. Miss Potter will be a live-action character, played by talented English actress Jackie Weiner. Jackie’s live-action scene as Beatrix Potter will be filmed using green-screen technology to place her in the setting of Hill Top Farm, Beatrix Potter’s countryside home in England’s Lake District.
While Beatrix Potter herself will be live-action, her stories and characters will be animated so as to look like her original watercolor book illustrations. The animation for the film will be done in old-fashioned, hand-drawn animation, with watercolor backgrounds and a soft pastel-colored palette.
The voice cast will include Sienna Adams as Peter Rabbit, Ronan McCoid as Benjamin Bunny, Ella Bradley as Tom Kitten, Karen Zikas as Jemima Puddle-Duck, Claudia Tawil as Squirrel Nutkin, Kyle Tanis as Mr. Jeremy Fisher, Beth Davison as Mrs. Tittlemouse, and Leslie Fanelli as Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, just to name a few.
The film will also be a musical. The songs will be classic public domain children’s songs set to new lyrics the characters will set in the film. For example, the song Two Bad Mice is set to the tune of Three Blind Mice.
Beatrix Potter’s The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Friends will be released on July 28th, 2018.
