CoolVines Hosts Whiskey Tasting Tonight

Peter O'Connor is back by popular demand. From 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, the "Master of Whiskey" will be offering a little lesson on how to purchase, taste, and serve different types of whiskey at CoolVines.

Born in Dublin, O'Connor and has spent the last 15 years working in the industry. He started in a local Dublin bar, where his love for whisky and cocktails began. He has worked in some of Ireland's biggest bars, as well as in one of Sydney, Australia's high-end spirit bars.

The whiskey expert has represented Ireland on many occasions, most notably in the 2003 Moscow Open Cup in Russia. In 2008, O'Connor was hired by Diageo - Ireland, working as a mixologist and spirit brand ambassador for Guinness, St. James Gate Brewery and the Bushmills Distillery. He has trained at over 350 bars, hotels and restaurants, and continues to train.
