WESTFIELD, NJ — Republican Ward 3 Councilman Mike Domogala officially announced his candidacy for Mayor of Westfield in the 2025 election.
"Westfield is a special place, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor," said Domogala. "From the start of my tenure on the Council, my focus has been on delivering transparency, responsible development, and a common-sense approach to decision-making. We have made significant strides in those areas since we sent new leadership to Council, but there’s more work to be done. As Mayor, I will continue to advocate for policies that keep Westfield safe, vibrant, and welcoming for all residents."
Domogala was sworn onto the Town Council in January 2024 along with fellow Republicans Todd Saunders for Ward 1, Michael Armento for Ward 2, and David Kiefer for Ward 4.

According to his campaign, public safety will remain a cornerstone of Domogala's work as Mayor.
In February 2024, Domogala helped introduce a Crime Bill in Trenton, aimed at implementing increased penalties for attempted car thefts and home break-ins.
"Domogala has been a leading voice in tackling traffic concerns, ensuring that infrastructure improvements maintain the charm of Westfield while addressing modern needs," according to the release.
As Mayor, Domogala will work to ensure access to high-quality sports fields and facilities through stronger partnerships with the school system and new opportunities for local teams, as well as developing an indoor recreation facility to provide year-round access for athletes, according to the release.
"As Mayor, I will continue to listen to residents, respect their voices, and ensure that their concerns shape the future of our town," Domogala said. "Westfield thrives when we work together, and I look forward to engaging with as many residents as possible to build a future that balances tradition with innovation."
Domogala's bid for Mayor follows an announcement by Democrats Mayor Shelley Brindle and Councilmembers Linda Habgood, Mike Dardia, and David Contract who will not be seeking re-election in 2025 after serving the Town for the past eight years.
