Curbside Leaf Collection Ending In Westfield Soon: See The Details

After curbside collection ends, residents can take their leaves to the Conservation Center free of charge.

WESTFIELD, NJ — As we get close to mid-December, Westfield officials gave residents an update on the third round of curbside leaf collection.

On Tuesday, the township said that Department of Public Works crews have completed two rounds, collecting leaves in all 10 zones of Westfield. Now, the DPW is moving through for a final pass, starting in Zone 1 and Zone 6 and continuing until the collection is complete.

The anticipated last day for leaf collection is Saturday, Dec. 16. Residents can subscribe to daily Nixle alerts about the collection schedule by texting 07090 to 888-777.

Due to the low volume of leaves remaining to be collected, this third pass will move quickly. Rather than specific areas and streets, only the anticipated collection zones will be communicated in the nightly Nixle alerts.
Once this pass is complete, residents will be responsible for depositing their remaining leaves at the Conservation Center (free of charge, no permit required), which will remain open through Friday, December 22.
Following the completion of the final pass on the roads, the crews will move on to leaf collection in the municipal parks and other public areas as necessary. Street sweeping will follow, weather permitting.
