Deadline To File School Board Member Petitions Approaches

Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi announces that the deadline to file school board member petitions is Monday, July 29 before 4 p.m.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi announces that the deadline to file school board member petitions is Monday, July 29 before 4 p.m. at the Clerk’s Election Office, Room 113, located in the Union County Courthouse in Elizabeth.

"Serving on the school board is a vital role in shaping the future of our community's education system," said Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi, a former school board member. "It is an opportunity for dedicated individuals to make a significant impact."

This year, school board positions are open in 20 of the 21 municipalities within Union County, with Summit being the exception as it operates under an appointed board system.

All prospective candidates are encouraged to contact the Election Office at 908-527-4996 prior to filing their petitions to ensure all requirements are met for a successful submission.
