'Disturbing' Video Of School Fight Prompts Police Investigation In Union County

The video​ shows the victim curled up on the ground as a number of students surround him and kick and punch him repeatedly.

LINDEN, NJ — A viral "disturbing" violent video of a fight involving Linden High School students has prompted a police investigation and school suspensions.

"We have received numerous calls about a disturbing video circulating online involving several Linden High School students. We are aware of the incident and it is under investigation," said Linden Police.

The fight occurred at around 7:30.a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Speedway gas station on W. St. George Avenue.

Three people were identified as Linden High School students and immediately suspended by the school, said police

The victim was also identified. He was treated for minor injuries and turned over to his parents.

"This incident is, obviously, concerning, and we are fortunate that there were not more serious injuries. Officers will be present in the area of the school in the morning and at dismissal, and we will continue to work closely with school administrators and faculty to prevent similar incidents in the future," said the police.
