Driver That Hit Westfield Student Issued Summonses
The 14-year-old student was reportedly in the crosswalk with a crossing guard stopping traffic when he was hit by a car, police report.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The driver of the vehicle that hit an Edison Intermediate School student Thursday morning while walking in a crosswalk in front of the school has been issued summonses.
At 7:41 a.m., a 2000 green Mercury Mountaineer, driven by Roger Osborne, failed to stop for the pedestrian in the crosswalk at the intersection of Rahway Avenue and W. Grove Street, Westfield Police Sgt. Michael Walsh reported.
A crossing guard was also working at that crosswalk and was stopping traffic on Rahway Avenue when the crash occurred, Walsh said.

The 14-year-old student was struck and suffered minor injuries. He was transported to a hospital.
Osborne was issued summonses for failure to yield to pedestrians, failure to comply with school crossing guard's signal to stop and careless driving.
