Results Of Westfield Primary 2023, Council Race Contested In Fall

The Westfield Town races for Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4 were uncontested for the primary with one Republican and one Democrat running for each.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The polls are closed, and the 2023 unofficial Primary Election votes for Westfield Town Council Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4 are tallied.

There was only one Republican and one Democrat running in the uncontested primary election for each Ward.

All of the candidates will now run for the one, four-year town council seat for each Ward in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Union County Sheriff

  • Peter Corvelli - Democat* - 20,952
  • Gerardo Jerry Napolitano - Republican - 6,321

The only contested race was the Union County Board of County Commissioners:

  • Lourdes Leon - Democrat* - 17,631
  • Joseph C. Bodek - Democrat* - 16,910
  • Michele S. Delisfort - Democrat - 17,322
  • Travis Amaker - Democrat - 4,511
  • LaTysha Gaines - Democrat - 5,635
  • Janet Vera Reynolds - Democrat - 5,136
  • Carlos Santos - Republican - 6,189
  • Brian Johdos - Republican - 6,125
  • Cathy Jakositz - Republican - 6,119
