Eleven Westfield Students Earn Slot On Region Band
High school musicians will perform with the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Region II Band in January.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Eleven student musicians from Westfield High School will perform with the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Region II Band in January.
Audition competition included the top musical talent from high schools in Hunterdon,
Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex and Union counties.

- Aprina Wang – French Horn
- Valerie Chang – Oboe
- Tia Lemberg – Oboe
- Ian Gurland – Percussion
- Robert Strauss – Piccolo
- Conor Daly - Trombone
- Austin Chen - Trumpet
- Duncan Cook – Trumpet
- Karl Peter – Trumpet
- Max Tennant - Trumpet
"We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these 11 dedicated musicians. The
process for preparing for a region band audition begins in May and each one of these
students showed an extreme amount of dedication to their instrument throughout that
process,” Westfield High School Director of Bands Christopher Vitale said. “We are excited for them to represent our school and band program at this year's region concerts and wish them the best of luck in their all-state audition in mid-January."
