Posing for pictures in the life-sized backdrops provided a fun activity for buddy classes in different grades and families attending winter musical concerts. The community is invited to Fairview Cemetery and Arboretum for an early morning bird observation walk, led by Pete Axelrod, a lifelong naturalist. Spring is a busy time for migrating birds, when a variety of species return to the north. Join fellow bird enthusiasts to observe some of these species on Saturday, May 9th to discover the thrilling sounds of songbirds in a pastoral setting of blossoming fruit trees and daffodils. Those interested are asked to gather at the back gate located on Gallows Hill Road at 8:00 am. Bring binoculars and wear walking shoes, as the grounds can be hilly. In the event of rain, the event will not be held.
Please register at Friendsoffairview1.org. Space is limited to 20 individuals, so make your reservation soon. Fairview Cemetery and Arboretum is located at 1100 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ 07090. On premises parking is available.
