Fugitive Accused Of Rape Of Child In Union Co. Captured In Tennessee
Siamel Alberto Perez, 34, was arrested after authorities got information that he was heading south and may be hiding in the Memphis area.

LINDEN, NJ — A fugitive wanted in connection with a rape of a child in Linden has been captured in Tennesee, according to the U.S. Marshals Service Memphis(USMS).
A warrant was issued on Sept. 23 for the arrest of Siamel Alberto Perez, 34, of Linden, on charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault, one count of third-degree sexual contact, and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, said the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
The USMS New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force(RFTF) got information that Perez was traveling south and could be hiding in the Memphis area. The USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Memphis was asked to find and arrest Perez.

On Oct. 1, authorities found a car with New Jersey license plates at the Sleep Inn Suites off American Way and Perkins Road.
While authorities were watching the car, they saw Perez walking out of the hotel toward the parking lot.

He was arrested without incident and taken to Shelby County Jail to await extradition.
The Union County Prosecutor's Office did not immediately return Patch's request for information on Perez's crime in Linden.
