Girl Who Almost Drowned in Westfield Pool Identified As Tamaques Student: Report

Tamaques School Principal sent a letter identifying the girl who almost drowned at Westfield's Memorial Pool as a student: news report

A letter was sent home to Tamaques Elementary School parents Sunday by Principal David Duelks identifying the girl as a student who just completed first grade. Her name was not released as per request from the school.

The girl had been found at 4:24 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 and was removed from the pool, Westfield Police Chief David Wayman said.

Resuscitation attempts were initiated and the girl was revived with a heart beat. She was transported to Overlook Hospital.

In Duelks' letter he said the girl is now at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Her current condition is still unknown at this time.
