GoFundMe Set Up For Contractor Who Fell From Westfield Roof

Dan Thibodeau was working on a home on Marion Avenue when he fell 3-stories off the roof. He has been hospitalized since April 25.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield contractor Dan Thibodeau once worked on roofs, now he's in a hospital fighting for his life on a breathing machine.

On April 25, Dan Thibodeau was working on a home on Marion Avenue in Westfield when he fell at 1:04 p.m. three-stories from the roof. A helicopter was requested to airlift Thibodeau to an area hospital but due to weather it could not fly, Westfield Police Chief David Wayman said. As a result, Thibodeau suffered severe head and brain trauma and multiple bodily injuries. A fundraiser has been set up to help offset expenses for the family of Thibodeau who was seriously injured in a three-story fall.

"Since we don't know the total extent of Dan's injuries, we don't know what all the expenses are going to be," The Thibodeau and Allen Clans stated, who created the GoFundMe site. "We are trying to cover immediate expenses for both Dan and Andrea, including helping with rent, groceries and travel costs."

A recent update on the site noted that Thibodeau came down with a slight fever and is sleepy. He does open his eyes and is moving a little bit. The doctors will also do more breathing off the machine trials a little later.

"Even though he didn't respond this morning he continues to trend upwards so they said not to worry - he's being more consistent and that's what they are looking for," according to the GoFundMe page.
