Help A Single Mom Keep Her Westfield Home
Christine Kamienski broke her leg and lost her job. Now friends are turning to the community for help.

WESTFIELD, NJ - A single mother in Westfield who suffered a literal bad break is on the verge of losing her home, and now a friend and local business owner has started a fundraising campaign in order to help her family.
Burim Regjaj's is the owner of Outta Hand Pizza and reached out through social media to assist Christine Kamienski.
"Many of you know me through facebook only and those I have met know me not to ask help on my behalf. I am asking for help in behalf of a Westfielder. Christine Kamienski turned into a good friend to me," Regjaj said. "As many of you may know she is a great person, a professional and single mother of two beautiful girls. Just as we were celebrating her new Chef position with David Burke an unfortunate accident occurred in which she broke her leg."

Regjaj said that Kamienski has significant medical and household expenses, no insurance, no unemployment benefits, no disability insurance and two High School kids to support as a single mom with no family to help her.
"Her rehabilitation will be expensive," Regjaj said, noting that after multiple surgeries she is bedridden she lost her new job.

"She is going through a rough patch, just as we all do one time or another," Regjaj said. "The funds collected will be used towards housing and utility bills. Funds are needed immediately as they are at the point of losing their home and basic utilities."
Regjaj has connected on fundraisers in the past, hosting Pizza with Police in Westfield as well as hooking up veterans with free meals.
Since launching the fundraising campaign residents have responded with money and with support.
"Hoping you’re back on your feet real soon," Kristine Jennette said.
Bill Brodniak, Mario Fortunato and James Boyes also echoed that sentiment, posting best wishes for a speedy recovery.
"Fingers crossed for getting your legs straightened," Glen Roberts said.
Regjaj also asked that people be kind to the family during their time of need.
"Regjaj lets be respectful for it is not as easy as it may appear for her and the family. This plea is a last resort," he said. "We did run many scenarios how to get over her difficulties."
Regjaj also wished her a speedy recovery and is already planning for the future.
"Once she is back we hope to put her cooking skills to work and turn a nice lunch at Outta Hand Pizza for all who can help as a thank you," he said.
