Hoopla Digital offers new Read-Along feature - kids digital books

Hoopla Digital now offers a Read-Along feature on kids digital books so they can see and hear the text as they read on their devices.

(December 14, 2017) The Westfield Memorial Library is pleased to announce that Hoopla Digital now provides an e-reader with a Read-Along feature for new or reluctant readers and second-language learners. The Read-Along feature highlights words in red as they are automatically narrated, so the reader both sees and hears the story.

Hoopla is a service that partners with public libraries to provide online and mobile access to thousands of movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, audiobooks and comics. The new Read-Along feature, which appears in a good selection of children’s books, can be muted on the reader’s device if they want to read the story on their own.

Hoopla features a selection of top content from Disney and HarperCollins, including such characters as CoCo, Pete the Cat, Olaf, Moana, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. The books can be viewed on smart phones, tablets, e-readers and computers.
