JCPenney Films Commercial Downtown
Fall fashion commercial films at diner and barber shop.

Two local barbers turned into actors portraying barbers this morning as a JCPenney commercial filmed downtown.
The commercial, for the department store's fall fashion line, filmed in several locations in downtown, including the Towne Barber Shoppe on Elm Street. Barbers Dominic Cicala and Dan Buccino were given extra roles in the commercial.
Cicala said the producers asked him and Buccino to portray barbers in the commercial, which filmed inside the store. The two pretended to cut hair on actors for parts of the commercial.

"It was nice," Cicala said. "I wish I could make some money from it."
Producers said that in addition to the barber shop, the commercial filmed scenes in Vicki's Diner and on the street before going to a nearby park to finish production. The producers said they enjoy filming in Westfield, due to the scenic look of the downtown.

Commercials are filmed regularly in the town, with this one occurring across the street from where a Best Buy commercial was taped on the corner of Elm and Quimby last October. WeTV shot a commercial for "My Fair Wedding" and "Bridezillas" at the First Congregational Church during the spring. Last fall a Japanese romantic comedy movie, "My Darling is a Foreigner," was shot at a home on Dudley Street and on the front lawn of the Presbyterian Church.
