On Thursday, April 24, 2014, the Jefferson Elementary School community came together to support a worthy cause - "The Sandy Ground: Where Angels Play Foundation." The students and their families came out to cheer on their Jefferson teachers in a charity volleyball game at Westfield High School. It was a fun night for everyone and over $1600 was raised for the foundation. The Sandy Ground: Where Angels Play Foundation is rebuilding 26 playgrounds in the tri-state area that were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Each one of the playgrounds is dedicated to the memory of one of the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. More details can be found at www.thesandygroundproject.org.
