The school cafeteria remains open for students who wish to purchase lunch. After school activities will proceed as scheduled.
"This investigation is very active, and for that reason we will not comment as to the specifics of the case other than to say have conducted a thorough search of the school and are confident that the students and faculty are safe," said Parham in a press conference.

During the lockdown, parents were urged not to come out to the school and instead go to Cooper Field at Dewitt Street and W. Curtis Street for information.
"All students are SAFE and police are on scene to insure the safety of the students. Parents are asked NOT to respond to the high school until the lockdown is lifted," Linden Police posted earlier in a Nixle alert around 10 a.m.
