Man Found With Stolen Loaded Semi-Automatic Gun During Traffic Stop In Cranford: Cops
Devon Anderson, 28, of Piscataway, was also found to have multiple magazines and additional rounds of 9mm ammunition.
CRANFORD, NJ — A man was found with a loaded, stolen gun during a motor vehicle stop in Cranford on Friday.
At around 2:53 a.m., Officer Liam Duffy stopped a gray 2023 Honda in the area of Raritan Road and Coleman Avenue after seeing the driver commit a moving violation.
Officer Matthew Richel was called as Duffy's backup. During the motor vehicle investigation, Duffy found a loaded firearm, said police.

The suspect, later identified as driver Devon Anderson, 28, of Piscataway, was taken into custody without incident.
Anderson was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Masada semi-automatic handgun containing 11 rounds of ammunition. The firearm was later determined to have been reported stolen out of Newark, said police.

Additionally, Anderson was found in possession of multiple magazines and additional rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Anderson was charged with second-degree possession of a firearm, third-degree possession of a stolen firearm and third-degree certain persons prohibited from possessing a frearm. At the time of this arrest, Anderson was committed to the Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.
