Mindowaskin Park Playground Renovations Continue
Town officials provided an update at its recent council meeting on the progress of the playground's renovation.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Renovation work at Mindowaskin Park Playground continues into September, with town officials providing an update at its recent council meeting.
The construction of extra drainage work is currently underway to "provide a better sub-base" due to set backs from heavy rain falls in August, Town Administrator Jim Gildea said at the Sept. 4 meeting.
The smaller of the two children structures is complete and the footing on the large structure is being done poured this week, Gildea said.

Work is expected to continue into the next few weeks.
The playground was initially close on July 14 to remove the old playground equipment and install more handicap accessible equipment.

The cost of the renovation is $850,980, however donations and grants totaling $560,000 will offset the cost, according to tapinto.net.
