Multiple Westfield Roads To Be Repaved Over Coming Weeks

Mayor Shelley Brindle announced an update to the Town's "unprecedented, multi-year road paving efforts."

WESTFIELD, NJ — Smoother roads are on the horizon for Westfield residents as Mayor Shelley Brindle announced an update to the Town's "unprecedented, multi-year road paving efforts."

Elizabethtown Gas' paving contractor, Atlantic Infrastructure, expects to begin the road resurfacing process, including milling and paving, on the following roads:

  • Central Avenue (between South Avenue and Park Street): This is overnight work that is expected to be done between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., with milling scheduled for the night of Tuesday, Aug. 1, and paving anticipated to follow on the night of Friday, Aug. 4.

The following streets are expected to be milled beginning on Thursday, Aug. 3, followed by paving on Tuesday, Aug. 8:

  • Hazel Avenue (First Street to Dorian Road)
  • Pierson Street (entire length)
  • Osborn Avenue (West Broad Street to First Street)
  • Dorian Avenue (Scotch Plains Avenue to Hyslip Avenue)
  • Edgar Road (entire length)
  • Codding Road (Rahway Avenue to Lynwood Place)
  • Hyslip Avenue (West Broad Street to Dorian Road)
  • First Street (Osborn Avenue to Hyslip Avenue)

"Following completion of the Hyslip Avenue/First Street grid, Atlantic Infrastructure expects to begin milling and paving work on Breeze Knoll (entire length) and Lawrence Avenue (Roanoke Road to Walnut Street), with exact dates to follow as the timeframe approaches," said Mayor Shelley Brindle.
