New 4-Way Stop Sign Installed In Westfield

Westfield Police are enforcing the new traffic pattern at intersection of Clark Street and Dudley Avenue beginning Tuesday.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A new four-way stop sign at the intersection of Clark Street and West Dudley Avenue was installed on Tuesday in Westfield.

Westfield Police sent out an alert warning drivers that they will be enforcing the new traffic pattern.

The installation of the all-way stop sign was the result of the Town Council unanimously adopting an ordinance earlier this month.

"As previously noted, this new measure is being taken at the recommendation of the Public Safety, Transportation, and Parking Committee, following a request made by area residents and a subsequent traffic warrant analysis that determined the intersection indeed meets the threshold for the implementation of an all-way stop," according to Town of Westfield, New Jersey.

The new stop signs will be accompanied by message boards and enhanced police presence to maximize awareness of and compliance with the new traffic requirement.
