WESTFIELD, NJ — A teenager was killed following a massive house fire that broke out early Monday morning in Westfield, Fire Chief David Kelly said.

The call for the three-alarm fire came in at 2:46 a.m., and when crews arrived at the home on the 1200 block of Prospect Street, there was already a heavy volume of fire on the first floor, Kelly said.

Three people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and two were able to get out. The third person, who was in his late teens, was found dead on the second floor, Kelly said. No other injuries were reported.
