• New Shops, Restaurants Coming To Westfield (patch.com) — Downtown Westfield is welcoming a wave of new shops and restaurants, from Framebridge and Le Bistrot to Thai Society and Bagel Cafe NJ, with more openings on the way. Mayor Jeremy Berman says the mix of eateries, retailers, and services is strengthening the town's commercial core and giving residents more local options across Elm, Broad, Quimby, and South and North Avenue.
   

• Ben Zhou Returns to Westfield School Board as Student Representative (tapinto.net) — Westfield High School senior Ben Zhou is again serving as the non-voting student representative on the Westfield Board of Education, giving local students a direct voice at monthly meetings. He reports on issues like the new cell phone rules, club activities, and school events, while working closely with district leaders to share student perspectives without pushing his own positions.
   

• Saturday Big Central Roundup: No. 6 Bridgewater-Raritan wins lone league game, with two others now on Monday; controversial ending at Cranford-Rahway tilt (cjsportsradio.com) — Westfield football fans saw the Blue Devils shut out 20-0 at Kehler Stadium by sixth-ranked Bridgewater-Raritan, whose defense held Westfield to just nine rushing yards. The roundup also recaps a controversial clock issue in Cranford's win over Rahway and lists other Big Central Conference scores and Monday makeup games affecting nearby schools.
