Police Blotter: Residents Report Property and Identity Theft

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

March 9: A Cumberland Street resident reported being the victim of a theft. Unknown suspect(s) stole $800 worth of property from an unsecured garage. 

March 10: Michael Dunn, 39, of Garwood was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) as the result of a motor vehicle stop. He was turned over to a responsible adult with multiple summonses and a pending court date.

March 11: A resident of the 500 block of North Scotch Plains Avenue reported an act of identity theft, which incurred a loss of more than $26,000.

A resident of the 100 block of Massachusetts Street reported a burglary to a motor vehicle between 7:30 p.m. and 10:42 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a pair of blue Ray Ban sunglasses valued at $60.

March 12: A resident of the 1100 block of Boynton Avenue reported a vehicle stolen by a known acquaintance.

March 13: A resident of the 400 block of Prospect Street reported an incident of identity theft by the filing of a fraudulent tax return.
