Construction On New Westfield Trader Joe's To Begin In Coming Weeks, Officials Say

Good news for Trader Joe's lovers! Permits were submitted to begin the reconstruction of Trader Joe's in Westfield

Westfield, NJ -- The Trader Joe's in Westfield is one step closer to being reopened.

The neighborhood grocery store in Westfield has submitted permits with the town's building department. The store will be rebuilt at the same location and remain the same size, the building department confirmed.

Construction is slated to begin in the next few weeks, Westfield Councilman Mark LoGrippo announced on Facebook.

The store had been closed down and then demolished after the store's roof collapsed during the blizzard in late January, which caused extensive damage to the Elm Street location.

The building was demolished on Feb. 5.

Originally plans for reconstruction was supposed to begin in mid-to-late May, according to a spokeswoman with Trader Joe's in April.
