Rowing Team Compete in Garden State Championship

Team does well at regatta.

Westfield rowers competed in the Garden State Championship regatta on the Cooper River in Camden on Saturday April 30. Thirty-four New Jersey teams participated in the regatta where Varsity and JV event winners qualify for the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Finals.

Mike Paone and Henry Hershey finished third in the Mens JV Double won by St Peters Prep.

Liz Driscoll finished third in Womens Varsity Single won by Glen Ridge.

Amanda Adsit and Charlotte Dreizen finished behind Haddon Township to earn a silver medal in Womens Lightweight Double.

Womens Novice quad of Emily McLane, Sara Lampert, E. May and Sandy Choi finished second behind South Jersey Rowing Club.

Mens novice quad of Sam Cravo, Drew Mellusi, Conor Martinson and Matt Lazzoratti finished fifth in their event won by Montclair.

Womens JV quad of Sara Sarkos, Ann Sexton, Delia Annitsakis and Sara Hoerrner finished fourth in their event won by Haddon Township.

Mens JV quad of Matt Huff, David Vercheck, Malcolm Spurlock and David Adsit finished fifth in their event won by Haddon Township.

Mens Varsity quad of Wren Keating, Alex Dumont, Ryan Don and Dan Brotman finished fourth in their event won by Montclair.

Womens Varsity quad of Megan Hoerrner, Meredith Latimer, Liz Driscoll and Jenny Amador finished fourth in their event won by Haddon Township.

Westfield's Novice rowers competed in the Robert White Regatta in Philadelphia on Sunday May 1.

Women's Novice B quad of Emily McLane, Sara Lampert, Sara Sarkos and Sara Friedman finished third in their event won by Westfield's A entry.

Women's Novice A quad of Cecilia Mosco, Erica May, Sandy Choi and Sara Hoerrner won their heat to advance to the finals where they finished third, the event was won by Conestoga.

Men's novice quad of Sam Cravo, Drew Mellusi, Conor Martinson and Matt Lazzoratti finished fifth in their event won by Ridgewood.
