Seven New Study Rooms to open at Westfield Memorial Library March 31

The Library Board of Trustees recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the library's new study rooms, which seat four to eight people.

On Wednesday, March 26, the Board of Trustees of the Westfield Memorial Library held a ribbon cutting for the library’s new meeting rooms, which will be open to the public on Monday, March 31. The free study rooms are for individual study, group work, meetings, and other uses to support connection, engagement, and lifelong learning for all Westfield residents.

“We are excited to open these new study rooms as part of our ongoing commitment to making the Westfield Memorial Library a welcoming and engaging space for all,” said Michelle Habayeb, President of the library’s Board of Trustees. “These rooms provide much-needed quiet spaces for study, work, and collaboration, and they represent an important step toward our larger vision of renovating the library for the future.”

The seven study rooms vary in maximum seating capacity from four to eight individuals, and can be used by as few as one person at a time. Patrons may view the availability and room capacity at https://wmlnj.org/rooms/and reserve a study room up to two weeks in advance. A valid Westfield Memorial Library card is required to make study room reservations.

“The library receives approximately 100,000 visitors annually, many of them coming to work, study, and meet with others, both in-person and at a distance,” says Allen McGinley, Library Director. “These new private study rooms equipped with comfortable seating and workspace, electrical access, robust WiFi, and built-in whiteboards will help to meet the evolving needs of the Westfield community.”
