Suspect In Custody After SWAT Domestic Incident Prompts Shelter Alert In Westfield
Mayor Jeremy Berman said a domestic incident at Sandra Circle Apartments ended with the subject in custody on Tuesday.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Police activity tied to a domestic incident at the Sandra Circle Apartments was resolved Tuesday evening, and the subject was taken into custody, said Westfield Mayor Jeremy Berman.
"First, thank you to the Westfield Police Department and Union County SWAT for their swift response to a domestic incident this evening in the Sandra Circle Apartments," said Berman at the Tuesday night Council meeting.
Berman said the Council was notified that "the subject is in custody and the situation is fully resolved."

He also thanked nearby residents affected by the response "for their patience and cooperation."
Westfield police first reported the police activity at Sandra Court and West Court around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Another alert followed at 6:30 p.m. asking residents to remain inside and avoid the area.
Police said the situation was resolved as of 7:27 p.m. Tuesday.
No injuries, charges or further information were provided.
