Talented Youths Perform for Seniors in Fanwood

The NJWA Chamber Orchestra, comprised of musicians in third grade up to adults, performed at Chelsea Senior Living in Fanwood on April 13.

The NJWA Chamber Orchestra, part of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, gave a concert at Chelsea Senior Living in Fanwood, NJ on April 13. The ensemble, featuring sixteen musicians aged 9 and up, performed a program of twenty selections to the delight of residents and staff. The variety of music included classical, folk, rock, jazz, Broadway, pop and country western pieces. Directed by NJWA founder/director Dr. Ted Schlosberg, the orchestra played for about 45 minutes.

The public is invited to join the ensemble, which welcomes violinists, violists, cellists and double bassists of all ages. The April 13 performance was made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
