Thieves Steal Car, Target Westfield Home

WESTFIELD, NJ — A high-end car was stolen, and another home was nearly broken into early Wednesday morning, Westfield Police said.

At around 4 a.m., officers responded to a report of a residential burglary that was happening in the 400 block of Baker Ave.

Police were met by the owners of the home, who told them that three suspects were able to get in by kicking the front door down.

They then took the keys to a 2024 gray BMW X5 and stole the car out of the driveway.

In a separate case from around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Westfield Police also responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 300 block of Wychwood Rd.

Residents at the scene told officers that three people tried to get into their home, but that they were able to scare them away.

The suspects were wearing dark clothes, ski masks, and gloves.
