Union County Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash On July 4th: Police
A 37-year-old Union County man was killed in a hit-and-run collision on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in New York, police said.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A 37-year-old Union County man was killed in a hit-and-run collision on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in New York on July 4th, authorities said.
Daniel Costa, an Elizabeth resident, lost control of his motorcycle while traveling eastbound on the highway around 1 a.m., according to the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
Costa was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the middle lane. A car hit him and drove away without stopping, police said.

Arriving officers found Costa unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
There have been no arrests in the crash. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
