Veterans Day 2019: Discounts And Deals For NJ Military Members

NEW JERSEY — Restaurants, fast food joints and coffeehouses and other businesses in New Jersey are offering a variety of Veterans Day deals in 2019 for retired and active duty military personnel.

Veterans Day is Monday, Nov. 11, and some of the special deals for military personnel are already in place during the year. In most cases, a form of military identification or proof of service is required.

Aunt Delis – Allendale
Veterans and Active Duty, get a complimentary meal on Monday.

Battleship New Jersey – Camden
Free fire Power tours to all veterans for free on Monday.

Beacon 70 – Brick
All Veterans with Proper ID Card will receive 15 percent off their bill on Monday.

Chimney Rock Inn – Bridgewater
Military veterans and active-duty service members enjoy a free appetizer or 50 percent off any entree on Veterans Day.

Chick-fil-A Flemington – Flemington
Veterans receive a free original or spicy chicken sandwich on Veteran’s Day.

Golden Nugget – Atlantic City
Show your military ID for 20 percent off: Restaurants: Lillie’s Asian Cuisine, Grotto, Bill’s Bar & Grill, Michael Patrick’s & The Buffet; Spa & Salon; Retail: Style & Trend, d’Oro, The Signature Shoppe & Essentials.

Laurel Lanes – Maple Shade
Free bowling with a military ID. 15 percent of the day’s sales will be donated to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Prospector’s Grille & Saloon – Mount Laurel
All Veterans will receive 1 (one) Free Meal on Monday.

All veterans can get a free landshark burger at the Landshark Bar & Grill or a free Cheeseburger in Paradise at Margaritaville.

Free admission to veterans on 11/11. Friends and family can get discounted admission for just $29.99.

All retired and active military members receive a free meal on Monday

All Veterans and active duty military will receive one free pasta entree with proof of military service.

Chain Restaurant Deals

7-Eleven: Get a free coffee or Big Gulp on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day. Download the 7-Eleven app and sign in or register.

Applebee’s: Veterans and Active Duty Military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veteran’s Day. Provide proof of service required.

Black Angus Steakhouse: Participating restaurants will offer veterans and active military professionals a special $9.99 Certified Angus Beef Top Sirloin Steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Bob Evans: Bob Evans Restaurants are offering free select menu items to Veterans and Active Duty Military on Monday.

Brick House Tavern + Tap: 20 percent off meal on Monday for veterans and parties up to four.

Bubba Gump Shrimp: Military personnel and their families receive 20 percent off on food and retail purchases on Monday.

California Pizza Kitchen: On Veterans Day, all veterans or active duty military personnel will be able to select a free entree from a special Veterans Day menu including pizza, salads and pasta. Please come in uniform or bring your military ID or other proof of service.

Chili’s Grill & Bar: All veterans and active duty military personnel can choose a complimentary meal from a select menu on Veterans Day 2019.

The Chop House: On Monday veterans with military ID or in uniform get 50 percent off any dine-in lunch or dinner entree.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store: Veterans receive a complimentary Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert or Crafted Coffee beverage. Plus an opportunity for guests to make purchases that support Operation Homefront. Veterans Day only.

Cumberland Farms: Free coffee on Monday for veterans, active-duty, reserve, National Guard or honorably discharged military personnel.

Denny’s All You Can Eat Pancakes: All active, non-active or retired military personnel at all participating Denny’s restaurants nationwide will receive a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast on Monday from 5 a.m. to noon. Diners must show ID to receive this offer.

Dunkin’ Donuts: On Monday, Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

Famous Dave’s: On Monday in honor of Veteran’s Day all former and current military personnel will receive a free two meat Combo.

Friendly’s Free Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner: Friendly’s is treating veterans and active military, with a valid military ID or honorable discharge card, to a free dine-in breakfast, lunch or dinner from select menus on Monday.

Golden Corral : On Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Golden Corral offers a free sit-in “thank you” dinner for Military veterans, retirees, and active duty members.

Home Town Buffet: Monday veterans may eat for free plus a bottled beverage. Offer valid at participating restaurants.

Hooters Free Meal: Hooters invites all veterans and current servicemen and women to a Hooters Veterans Day free meal from their select Veterans Day menu by presenting a military ID or proof of service at participating Hooters locations across the country on Monday.

Houlihan’s: Receive a free entree from a select menu on Veterans Day Monday with proof of veteran status or active service in the military.

IHOP: All active duty and Veterans are invited to come in and enjoy Free Red, White, & Blue Pancakes on Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Joe’s Crab Shack: On Monday all veterans can enjoy 20 percent off.

Little Caesars Pizza: On Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active military members can receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY® Lunch Combo.

Macaroni Grill: Free Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs & Spaghetti entrée this Monday to all veterans and active military.

Manhattan Bagel Company: Monday Manhattan Bagel will offer a free bagel and cream cheese to all veterans at participating locations. All active, former and retired military personnel are invited to visit their local store to take advantage of this one-day promotion.

Margarita Mexican Restaurant: All veterans and active duty military personnel receive one free entree for you and one for your guest. Valid at participating locations Monday.

McCormick and Schmick’s Free Entree: Veterans and Gold Star families (parents and spouses) can enjoy a complimentary lunch or dinner at McCormick and Schmick’s on Sunday.

Old Country Buffet: Monday veterans may eat for free plus a bottled beverage. Offer valid at participating restaurants.

On The Border Free Entree: This Veterans Day, veterans, retired and active-duty military will receive a free meal combo meal at OTB’s.

Red Lobster: On Monday to thank Veterans, active duty military and reservists, Red Lobster will offer a free appetizer or dessert from their select Veterans Day menu. To receive offer, show a valid military ID.

Red Robin: All Veterans and Active Duty Military get a free dine-in Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries on Monday.

Starbucks: On Veterans Day, active duty service members, reservists, veterans and military spouses are invited to enjoy a free Tall Brewed Coffee.

TCBY: First 6oz are free for veterans and active military on Monday.

Villa Italian Kitchen: Active or retired members can grab a free slice of cheese pizza on Monday.

White Castle: Military veterans and active duty military who show proof of service can visit a participating White Castle location on Monday, and receive a free breakfast combo or castle combo meal #1-6.

Retail Discounts

The Home Depot: Veterans are being offered a 10 percent military discount on in-store purchases on select items. All veterans are eligible for this discount during the Veterans Day weekend. Visit the Home Depot website for details.

Walgreens: Active military, veterans and their families receive 20 percent off everything. Walgreens also provides free flu shots for VA-enrolled Veterans. Visit the Walgreens website for details.

The first Veterans Day, initially recognized as Armistice Day in 1919, marked the date when Germany and the Allies signed a 1918 agreement to cease World War I. Veterans Day was later officially approved as a national holiday on May 13, 1938, to primarily honor veterans of World War I.

Almost two decades after in 1954, it became a day to recognize American veterans of all wars, and the name changed to its current form, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
