Warby Parker Opens Westfield Store Saturday

Special Westfield sunglasses are being crafted for the event.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Warby Parker will be opening in downtown Westfield this Saturday and according to co-founder and co-CEO Neil Blumenthal the company just couldn't stay away from New Jersey after opening a Paramus location.

"We’ve come back to plant new roots, first in Hoboken and now in Westfield," Blumenthal said. “We’re really excited to explore more of the Garden State with our two new locations. Some of our customers here in New Jersey have been following us since the very beginning. Now with our Westfield and Hoboken stores, we’ll be able to make their experiences with us more personal and convenient.”

According to Blumenthal, Westfield has been on the radar for a while.

"We couldn’t have found a better spot than downtown, with its Main Street charm and historic library just a few blocks away. Now we’re here to stay, and we couldn’t be happier to have people over to our new home soon," he said.

Keith Negley, a Washington-based illustrator whose work has appeared in The New
York Times, TIME, and children’s books has created an ode to reading through a series of murals on the store’s exterior and behind the marble Reference Desk—the place to pick up orders, get frame adjustments, and consult with opticians.

Westfield Only Frame

To commemorate each store openings, a special frame is commissioned for sunglasses that are only available at that location. In Westfield, this means a Jones in Lemongrass Crystal—a luminous frame with a round fit—and outfitted with Flash Mirrored Iridescent lenses.

According to a release from the company, Warby Parker now accepts certain UnitedHealthcare and Spectera vision plans. Eligible members may be able to order a new pair of glasses or prescription sunglasses for just the cost of their copay, normally $25 or less. There are other ways to save even without UnitedHealthcare or Spectera, like out-of-network reimbursement, FSAs, and HSAs, the release said.

On their website, the company said that they believe that everyone has the right to see and for every pair of glasses and sunglasses sold, a pair of glasses is distributed to someone in need through their Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program. To date, over four million pairs have been distributed.

Warby Parker Westfield is located at 126 Central Ave. and can be reached at 908.505.0064.

Their hours are:

  • Monday–Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
