Westfield Adds $11.8M Edison Fields Bond To Ballot For Public Vote
The Westfield Town Council voted to add the bond ordinance for the undertaking of the Edison turf field project to the ballot in November.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The $11.8 million bond ordinance for the undertaking of the Edison turf field project was added to the ballot by the Westfield Council for voters to weigh in at the upcoming November election.
The resolution adding the interpretive statement relating to a referendum to repeal or ratify bond ordinance No. 2023-03 was unanimously approved by the Westfield Council at the Aug. 15 meeting.
This addition to the ballot comes after a group called the Citizens for Responsible Athletic Field Development (CRAFD) submitted a petition on June 12 to the town with more than 2,800 signatures to allow Westfield voters to weigh in on the controversial Edison Fields project.

The ordinance bonding $11.8 million for the undertaking of the Edison turf field project was initially passed and finalized by the Council on May 23 with an 8 to 1 vote. Councilman Mark LoGrippo was the lone no vote. Read More: $11.8M Edison Field Project Bond Ordinance Passes In Westfield
