Eva Natiello of Westfield penned her first book “The Memory Box” in 2014 and it has since been listed as a best seller by the New York Times and USA Today. The book was also recently made into an audio version and producers are now looking into it for a possible television series or movie.

Now locals can read the book at the Little Free Library at 710 E Broad Street in Westfield.

“The Memory Box was my first book, my debut book,” Natiello said. “When I started writing the book I was new to Westfield and it wasn’t even my intent to write a book. It was a hobby at time when my kids were really young.”

Natiello was semi-retired at the time and used to work for Estee Lauder in New York City but moved to the suburbs to raise her kids.

“This book became a little pet project of mine when I got the idea after reading a New York Times article about a boy who found out he was on the missing person's list and was kidnapped from searching his name online,” Natiello said.

Natiello’s book follows a similar concept about a mother who lives in Fairhaven (esssentially a fictional Westfield) who searches her name and unearths a whole whirlwind of information on herself that she never knew.

That’s where the catchphrase for this psychological thriller book is “be careful what you search for.”

Now her book is being featured at the Little Free Library in Westfield.

“I’m crazy about libraries, and I think this kind of library is a magical place,” Natiello said. “When I saw the little library I loved the miniature aspect of it… I also wanted to give back to community in a way since the Westfield community has been absolutely incredible to me and the book.”

Her signed book is available to read at the Little Free Library at 710 E Broad Street in Westfield.
